Slowly, carefully, deliberitly she peeled back the cover of the book. The binding creaked and groaned as if in pain. The heavy book fell open with a thud. Particles of dust flew around, encasing her, choking her. Barely audible voices whispered in tones full of anguish and despair.

You have been warned.
Proceed with Peril.

For several seconds she stared at the page, pondering, wondering.

A deep stilllnes inflitrated every corner of the small room.

Ba-boom, ba-boom, her heart echoed through the stillness, her hands trembled with fear and anticipation.

She turned to the first page. It was blank. It’s glaring whiteness stared back at her soulless, empty. She thumbed through all the pages and found them equally blank.

Blank? Blank!
