While warming up for her 3rd game that week, Iliana sees the same boy who caught her eye in the parking lot two days previous. Not wanting to look foolish, she only spares him the occasional glance, but realizes at once that he’s absolutely gorgeous, and has been paying most of his attention to her.

Hmm, this should be interesting.. she thinks to herself, smiling slightly. Her day has been horrible, with James blowing her off for most of it, as well as having to deal with stupid drama.

“I want you girls to play hard today.” the coach says, minutes before kickoff. “This team is tough, but I think we can beat them if we really push ourselves.” He reads off the starting lineup. Iliana is spaced out, thinking of problems with James, until she hears “Iliana, starting center.”

Yes! Finally… she thinks. I can’t wait to take my anger out on something. At least this will give me a chance to unwind…
