Attacked
“Ugh! I didn’t even think about the press!” Wes exclaimed.
Kevin laughed, “Now that you’re family, you better get used to it. There’s press everwhere, everyday. And, since this was a court case, it’s gonna be even worse.”
“Don’t worry! We’ll protect you!” Joe said in a deep dramatic voice, trying to lighten the tension.
As soon as we stepped outside, I realized that they really did need to protect us. There were at least eight news station vehicles parked around the courthouse, and the entire place was swarming with new reporters. They all ran toward us, shoving microphones in our faces and shouting questions at us.
Surprisingly, I got scared. I felt like I was being attacked. Nick must have saw the fear on my face, because he came next to me and put his arms around me.
“It’s okay, just get to the car,” he whispered into my ear.
Keeping his grasp on me tight, Nick led me out of the crowd while Big Rob tried his best to keep the reporters away.
