In the bathroom she stared into the mirror. She was glad to see she didn’t look as horrible as she felt. Her face was pale, but not deathly pale. The circles under eyes she could say were from lack of sleep. She walked back out more confident that she could keep herself together.
“I bought some frozen dinners on the way back from the fire accident.â€? Jack commented.
“Oh good thanks,â€? Anna attempted smiling.
“Anna are you alright?â€?
Oh no, Anna just keep it together. He doesn’t need to know anything. Don’t screw things up.
“Mhm.â€?
Jack took Anna’s hand, “Are you sure?â€?
“Positive,â€? Anna’s voice cracked.
They were now getting off the bus stop for their hotel.
“Anna-â€?
“Jack please. I’m fine,â€? Anna’s tone came out almost bitter & she hated that. But he just couldn’t know..he just couldn’t.
Jack sighed, “I’m sorry. I’m being paranoid again.â€?
Anna looked at Jack funny & held his face in her hands.
“Hey don’t you blame yourself for anything. You are such a blessing from God above & I…I love you Jack.â€?
