Nine Lives (Or Even an Extra One) for a Wolf is Pretty Strange!

I leaned back, squeezing my hair, still trying to get the remnats of water out. I was not that big of a fan of swimming, yet it led me here. I looked down at Carlene who still looked dreadfully pale.
“Well, Consuela is going to get us some food. You are lucky though, when she found you she was going to take you as dinner. But, I convinced her not to and help heal you since I knew you!” I said, smiling.
“W-what?” Carlene mumbled, still a little out of it.
“Here,” I said, leaning behind me and grabbing the bowl full of water. “You need to drink something. You lost a lot of blood out there and need to rest.”
She tried to sit up, but I pushed her back gently. She grunted, glaring at me saying, “I’m fine! Let me get up!”
“No! I snarled back. “You need to rest for now. Consuela doesn’t know all the side effects that you might get, so you are staying right there!”
“Wait…” Carlene said, clearly confused. “What happened to me?”
“Consuela gave you one of her nine lives…”
