A Long Way To Go
“Yea it’s mama baby.” She smiled.
“Mama!” he screamed as he suddenly jumped up to hug her.
“Shhh baby we gotta be quiet,” she said now in tears from the love of her baby.
“Why mama?” Anna loved him calling her that as much as he loved saying it.
“Because you’re coming to my new home baby.”
“Is grandma coming?”
Anna hesitated. “No baby…no grandma isn’t coming.”
Taylor was so little, and yet somehow he seemed to just understand that Anna was doing was she thought was best. It truly is inexplicable how children just know more than ever given credit for.
“Okay mama, I’ll come.” he smiled and hugged her again. Taylor couldn’t express how happy he was to see his mama again.
Anna helped him out the window and once they got to the top of the hill, they both looked back. Taylor took one step forward, not letting go of Anna’s hand.
“Goodbye Grandma…”
Anna did the same. “Goodbye Mama…”
Once they had been walking for 15 min Taylor announced that he was tired.
“We got a long way to go baby.”
