fresh air
I stared at him fuming. I turned around, and without another word, walked out the door. I snatched my bag that I had packed before-hand, and slipped into the drivers side of my pick-up truck. I didn’t know exactly where I would end up, but I was certain that I would try my hardest to never return to this place again. I sat there for what seemed like hours, before I slipped the key in the ignition. I cranked my truck into reverse, rolled down my window, and took off. I didn’t realize that I had been holding my breath until my lungs started to burn. I let my breath out, and I gulped in new air. It was like the first breath of fresh air that I had had in a long time.
I quickly remembered that Sebastian, my best friend, had made me promise that I would swing by and pick him up, when I decided to leave everything behind. I knew that he wanted out of his mothers’ wrath, just as much as I wanted out of my fathers’.
When I pulled up, I called him on his cell phone and told him to come outside.
