Off to Vermont
As Michela was packing all of her best Ralph Lauren dresses for her trip, her mom walked in.
“Mickey, your father and I have made a few last minute changes to our vacation,” her mom said sounding serious. Michela didn’t like her mom’s serious side. “Instead of staying in L.A. for a week, we’ll be going for three days. After that, we’re flying somewhere for a month. I bet you can’t guess it…
“Um, Flordia!”
“No.”
“Paris!”
“No.”
“TOKYO!”
“Oh, be real, Michela! We’re invited to my brother Doug’s house in Vermont! He’s remarried to a woman named Kate and I would like to meet her.”
Michela switched her excitement level to zero, which ment going into mayjor hissy fit mode.
“MOM! I don’t wanna go to their house! I have partys to go to and people to hang out with! I just can’t leave my friends for half of the summer!”
“Oh, it won’t be that bad. Your cousin Annie is the same age as you. You two will have fun.”
Michela groaned and flopped onto her bed.
