Painful Anxiety

“Mou…” Hoang sighed as he watched the rain spatter at his windows nonstop. Patter patter patter. The sound of each drop hitting the window pane was like his heart beating wildly. He looked down at his cell phone and kept shutting and opening it, hoping that the reply would come soon. Then it could either be all over for him or start the beginning of a new relationship. It wasn’t the thought of rejection that made him worry. Well, it was but he would rather be rejected by Tommy than be kept in the dark forever.

“Reply, damn you…” he muttered and wrung his hands a little.

Hoang knew that Tommy would not have his phone on him 24/7, but with each moment that passes by, his imagination ran wild of all the terrible things that could happen or could have happened. He could just imagine his certain love interest ran over by a car with his cellphone right in his hand because he was checking the text that Hoang just sent.

Hoang’s phone suddenly lit up. He had a new text message from Tommy. It said…
