Why do we “Crunch Numbers” ?

I mean that is simply rude. Those digits didn’t one darn thing to you. Are you just a number hater?
Ya know, most people have a favorite number or a lucky number, so what wrong with those particular numbers? Did they come in the middle of the night and steal your precious rare golden spoon collection? Or did they ruin your score on the SAT ’s ?...
Well you probablly did that to yourself (Coughs loudly..)
Anyhooways….
By they way why do the numbers have to be crunched? Why not munched or chewed or even massaged?
Why something so absolutly uncomfortable, (to the numbers that is.)?
