Suddenly Taylor started screaming. Anna jerked around to pick him up but he was kicking too much. Then she realized that he was still asleep.
“Taylor! Taylor honey wake up! Baby hush now,” she said running her fingers through his hair. He woke up with tears running down his face.
“Mama!” he screamed & reached for her. She picked him up & pressed his head into her shoulder as he held tightly to her neck still crying.
“Shh hush now baby. It was just a dream Taylor. Shh please stop crying baby. Mama’s here, mama’s here,” Anna spoke as soothingly as she could and after a few min Taylor started to quiet down.
“Mommy there was big monster trying to eat me!” he started sobbing again.
“Shh baby it’s ok. Mama’s not gonna let a monster get anywhere near you,” she gently tickled the back of his neck. She hummed a piece of an old lullaby that her mama used to sing to her when she was little.
“I love you Taylor Lee, I love you so much.” she said softly.
“I love you too mommy,” he muffled sweetly in her shoulder.
