[Challenge] Revisit An Old Ficlet
100 ficlets. Blimey. Took me a little longer to get here than I was hoping for, but then again most things do. Anyway, to celebrate this occasion.
I was commenting to some other ficlets users the other day that I don’t think people are using the site for its intended purpose – they come up with an idea for a full story and decide, instead, to chop it up into little ficlets – writing part after part after part consecutively. For me, the fun in ficlets is building a brand new world in a short space and seeing what other people do with it. I try to avoid writing sequels and prequels for my own stories, although I have played around with concepts here and there when I think I can do something new and interesting with them.
With that in mind, I issue the following challenge: find an old ficlet of yours – a standalone, one without a sequel or a prequel – and write a sequel or prequel for it. Just one. Write it, then post the link for the new story in the Comments for this one.
The winner gets a prize. Really.
