Attack of the Pantry Hand (17)
I watched nervously as Chris led Cirrus towards the town I could see over the next hill. I supposed he would be fine- but I still didn’t like trusting him to strangers.
Well, Chris isn’t really a stranger. But he knows nothing about horses- though I suppose there will be someone at the stable who does… I thought.
Rubbing my aching legs, I stamped up the hill towards the house. Inside, it was large and spacious, with a high ceiling and exposed rafters. I walked out of the front room and into the kitchen. It was empty.
Pausing next to what appeared to be a pantry, I opened my mouth to call out.
A hand shot out of the pantry door, clamped over my mouth, and dragged me inside.
