The Thing Outside My Window (Infamous Beginning Challenge)

It was a dark and stormy night. As the lightning flashed, and the thunder crashed, evil brewed. I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling, watching as the darkness was interrupted every few seconds by sudden flashes of light. Outside my window I heard rustling, like fabric flying in the wind. I closed my eyes for a moment, then opened them to see not just a flash of lightning, but a shadow on the ground cast by the lightning. Whatever was standing in my window hadn’t come in yet. Maybe it was reading my thoughts. It obviously knew I was awake. I thought these horrid thoughts quite passively, feeling no worry, because I was exhausted, and most emotions seem to be numbed by exhaustion. The next flash of lightning reflected off of the thing, possibly it’s teeth or maybe a brooch. Except for the occasional crack of thunder, and the whistling wind, the night was silent, so I could make out the sound of teeth nashing hungrily, sliding along eachother to make a sound like that of two swords clashing. Who was outside?
