A silver heart
Stars twinkled in the night sky. A half moon the color of Goldenrod floated just above the purple horizen. My hands steadily gripped the steering wheel. I could feel Travis’s gaze on my face. I turned swiftly to see his dark eyes pinned on me.
“So were exactly are we going?” He asked.
“Just a couple miles down this road. My ballet class is starting in fifteen minutes. ” I replied. Still in a bit of a shock that he wanted to come and watch. Travis angled his head up a bit to look up at the sky.
“I left on a half moon, didn’t I?” He whispered.
I bit back tears as I nodded silently. He looked down at his hands as the ride carried on.
“I believe I still have something of yours,” He spoke. I turned to him. Travis rummaged in his pocket before withdrawing a solid silver heart. I gasped recognizing the precious piece of jewelry. I had always wondered where it had gone. He dropped the charm in my shaking hand. I imediatley curled my fingers around it, then looked up at him not knowing exactly what to say.
