Literary Tastes (AF,FBC)
Because of the number of books I’ve read in my short life, I flatly refuse to choose one book to call my favorite, & that is that.
All Time: Big’ol tie between Great Expectations & Les Miserables. GE was probably the first book I could call a favorite, & Dickens snagged my attention at once. I read an abridged Les Mis, but I love it immensely. I’m trying to read the unabridged version…
Fantasy: The Goose Girl, Shannon Hale. Style & plot. Enough said.
Memoir: Never Have Your Dog Stuffed, Alan Alda. Witty, interesting story.
Sci-Fi: Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Jules Verne. Great adventure!
Mystery: Anything of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. An amazing sleuth, fantastic cases, all in a British accent. Need I say more?
Can’tPutItDown-er: The Mysterious Benedict Society Trenton Lee Stewart. Genius kids, crazy mission to save society… have a TON of time on your hands if you read this puppy; you WILL NOT want to put it down. (The sequel is great too!)
