“Hey Lan…” Stephanie asks.
“Yeah?” Lan answers.
“Is there something bugging you?”
“I’m… not sure…”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Lan pauses for a sec before replying. “I can’t tell what is real anymore…”
“What?” Stephanie asks.
“It’s hard to explain… Every time something good happens… it always disappears.”
“What do you mean?”
Lan looks up at the sky and says, “Whether it’s a dream, or a force messing my life up….” Lan stops and has a tear rolling down his face.
“Lan…”
“Stephanie… I’m scared…”
Stephanie leans over with her head against his shoulder.
“I don’t want to lose you…” Lan said in a shaky voice.
“You’re not going to.” Stephanie said and wrapped her arms around him.

Lan starts to get dizzy and everything gets dark. He looks over at Stephanie, who disappears and a bolt of pain shocks through his body over and over. He closes his eyes and says to himself, “I want my life back!”

He opens his eyes and he wakes up, after being in surgery.

Is this... real?
