The Skater Girl Who Really Couldn't Skate
Jake got onto his skateboard and caught up. “You know,” he said, “it’s not much fun if you aren’t actually rolling.”
“I’m rolling!” Lenga-chan insisted as she took another step.
“Give me a second.” He rapidly got back onto his skateboard and left to somewhere around the corner. Lenga-chan rolled her eyes and took another rollerbladed step.
“Stupid jerk,” she muttered. She stepped while keeping a firm grip on the rail. “Can’t tell me what to do!” She stepped again and trembled a little. “This skating thing isn’t hard at all! I bet I can do it without the handrail!” Very nervously, Lenga took her hand off the rail and took another step.
Immediately, the wheels on her rollerblade started turning, and very rapidly Lenga lost her balance and fell.
“OW! Okay… This isn’t hard at all… That Jake doesn’t know what he’s talking about…” Very slowly, she pulled herself up by the rail and took another step.
