Some Wishes Don't Come True.
The mall was abustle. Saturdays brought large crowds to the local boutiques. She was alone today. She hated being alone. She nearly feared it. Coming to the mall was the best approximation of human contact that she could find when she did not wish to be alone.
A face in the crowd. She did a double-take.
That’s Bill. What is he doing here?
Fighting through the busy crowd, she gave chase only to find that Bill was not alone.
He spotted her.
“Katie.. uh, Hi, what are you doing … here?” his voice trailed off. Guilty!
“Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing! Who’s this?”
She was blonde. Beautiful. Stupid with cherry lipstick too red for her pale vampyric face. BITCH .
“This is Sally. I can explain, we ..”
“Don’t bother.” The girl with the round face said, “I get it.”
She stormed away, running for the door.
Outside she looked up at a brooding sky, closed her eyes, and cried.

The accident was in the news. Honda Civic rolled off the highway. Two Dead; names withheld!
She thanked the stars.
