Jesse sang lead in a rock band. He had tattoos and he shot up drugs and he got hammered after every show. He also had deep, soulful eyes and a wide, inviting smile.
Cynthia did not sing lead in a rock band. She was a concert pianist. She did not have tattoos and she did not shoot up drugs and she did not drink alcohol. She had large, innocent eyes, and a small, shy smile.
One night, Cynthia attended Jesse’s rock concert. She was able to find some beauty in the screamed pessimistic lyrics and loud pounding drums. She looked at Jesse and saw his eyes, deep and soulful. She wondered what he was thinking.
After the concert, Jesse got stoned and drunk, while Cynthia went home and slept.
The next day, Cynthia woke up to find that she had become preoccupied with the rock singer Jesse. She thought abut him while she ate breakfast. She thought about him again while she was at work. She thought about him more when she came home and she especially thought about him right before she went to sleep.
