Two hours and twelve minutes later they arrived in Albany.

Doc Holliday was still unconcious.

The siblings were suppose to stay on the north bound train whereas Doctor Holliday was to catch a stage west.

Martha Louise, made the decision for all of them. Kathern and Archibald would continue on the train and she would stay with the Doc and catch the next train north, in a few days.

Two men in work clothes were brought to their compartment by the porter. They loaded Doc Holliday on a stretcher and removed him from the train. With Martha giving them directions they loaded him onto a buckboard and took off for her uncles home.

Standing on the depot platform, Kathern and Archibald watched the buckboard until it was out of sight, then Kathern slipped her hand into Archibald’s and they reboarded the train.

Twenty five minutes later the train was again northbound.

Kathern curled up on the bench seat, her hands between her knees and her head pillowed on one of the fringed pillows.
