The Last Supper (Part of Moving Out)

Dinner time finally came. My mom and Step dad were really shaken. Dinner was completely silent for the first time ever. When we finished, my mom said, “Pat.”
“Yes?” I responded.
“You heard everything on the news this morning, right?”
“Yes.”
“Its getting worse…”
“Whats getting worse, mommy?” my little sister inquired.
“Shut your mouth Alivia!” my Step dad snapped.
We all looked at him in horror. He never snaps like that! Perhaps this issue is worse than I thought.
My mom continued, “Its started to spread inward towards Berks County.”
“No, no your kidding right?”
“DO I LOOK LIKE I ’M KIDDING ? People are dying now because of the disease.”
“But we’re in Berks!”
“Yes, and that’s what we have to talk about.”
“When I was talking to your stepfather today, we decided it’s best we move, and get as far away as we possibly can.”
“We have to leave everything?”
“No, were going to pack our most important belongings, and leave.”
“Is the rest of the family coming?”
“Your grandparents and are, and I also called your father.”
