A False Accusation
I felt my eyes widen, and my wings drooped disconsolately.
Was this a dream?
“Y-your Majesty?” I managed to stutter, trying to get my frayed nerves into order.
“You heard what I said,” Queen Petunia deadpanned, and trained her gaze on me. I froze in my spot, like my feet were glued to the ground.
“But…but why?” I burst out, suddenly regaining a small bit of my confidence back. “What did I do?! I heed your counsel and all the rules surrounding the court!”
Her face only became harder. “Guards, take her away.”
“No!” I shouted, struggling against the fae guards’ hands. It was impossible to break free, but I would try till they knocked me out, or worse.
“My family has lived in Buttercup Haunt for more than a millennia!” I shrieked, still fighting. “What did I do? What did I do to deserve this punishment?”
She did not answer me for a while, and the guards stopped in their tracks.
“Quella told me everything. About your betrayal.”
So it was her!
“You’ve got the wrong person!”
