Ficlets

Everyone has a story.

“Was I really that loud?”
I asked with little interest, not wanting to be completely rude.
“No, I just pay attention.”
He had a weird expression on his face that I couldnt comprehend. Sympathy?
“Wanna talk about it.”
I didn’t even have to think.
“No.”
I said quietly.
“Are you sure, sometimes it helps?”
I think I’de start bawling. This was a story I’de never told before, and I didnt know if I could.
“Kinda hard.”
I said with a painful smile.
He was just looking down at me, expecting me to say something else.
“What difference does it make if you know why the crying girl is crying?”
“Everyone has a story, i just like to know them.”
I decided to share. What could it hurt? Ide never see him again in my life.
“It all started in the ninth grade. I was the new kid, no on talked to me, exept for one person. His name was Oliver Green, and I loved him. I never told him, no matter how hard it was, because I was afraid. When I finally got the guts, i was too late. He already found the girl of his dreams.”
