Red or Blue (Deduction Challenge)

Bellagio Resort, Las Vegas Nevada.
The bomb-suit was heavy, and it was hot as balls on the bloody roof-top.
“How are we doing there, Woolsey?” the voice was muffled through the helmet but Garret Woolsey recognized the voice.
“Howdy, Sarge. Cool as a cucumber up here. Welcome to the show!”
“What have we got here?” the sarge asked.
Woolsey eyed the device expertly, “Whoever built this thing knows his shit, Sarge, I won’t lie to ya. This one is new to me.”
“Exciting as all’s get out, ain’t it, Woolsey. That’s what it’s all about.”
“Copy that, sir”
The device was an intricate puzzle of wires and electronics, redundantly interconnected throughout the Hotel. One wrong move, and the place goes up like fireworks.
“I think I’ve isolated the trigger-piece. Questions is,” Woolsey licked his lips, “Red wire or the Blue wire!”
“Always go with Neo, Garret. He never took the Blue pill! Cut the Red and go to Wonderland,”
Woolsey closed his eyes and cut the Red wire.
Silence.
“Long live The Matrix, Sarge!”
“Amen to that!”
