Difficulties.
I tried to remember if it was weird to call someone you hadn’t seen in seven years. Maybe. I had the number, the phone, and the dialouge, the only thing that was missing was the back bone.
I dialed and couldn’t push the little green button. “Come on Mel.” I said to myself. Didn’t work. “I can’t do it.” I gave up and threw my phone on the ground.
To my syprise I heard a soft ringing.
“Oh shit.” I leaped onto my bed and picked it up.
My pillow pushed send.
I hung it up immediately.
Less than twenty seconds later it was rining. Oh crap, they were calling back.
“hello..?” I asked humiliated.
‘hi.. This number called here a minute ago.”
“No it didn’t.” i stumbled, and flipped the phone shut.
This was so pathetic. They had to have figured out I was lying.
I called back. “I did call, I’m sorry. I was umm wondering if Jake was there…?”
“Yeah.. uh here he is.” They sounded like they were talking to a mentally handicapped turtle.
“Hello?” asked a husky voice.
“Jake?” my voice screeched.
