There, you will see the best worst entries in San Jose State University’s 26th annual Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.

The point of this contest? To write the worse opening sentence possible to an imaginary novel of your choice.

Personally, I found these very random and funny, and I’m sure someone on ficlets will, too.
