Solitude, Memories & Sadness

God, he missed her. He missed her so much.

Listening to that song pouring from his speakers, Vic’s heart sunk. The first time he had heard it, they were together. Riding in his car, talking incessantly like they always did.

Back and forth, their pace was unmatchable. They fed off of each other, both listening intently and responding accordingly, interrupted only by the occasional bout of laughter if the topic warranted it.

Occasionally, their eyes would meet. Always, when that happened, in a moment of silent, electric passion they would sit, just gazing into each other. His eyes, searching hers, looking into their emerald-green depths. Noticing the sparkle. Wishing he could wake up next to those gorgeous eyes every morning. Wishing she could be his.

A smile reached his lips as he remembered those precious moments that they had shared.

Then, as quickly as his reminiscent happiness arrived, it left. Carried away with the beat of that song.

Their song.
