Excellent story! I recently contributed locally to the creation of an equestrian center for developmentally challenged kids. I imagine it really helps to get them out of themselves.

The writting was supurb, but the storyline was cheesy. This feels like a reader’s digest cookiecutter story of hope and courage, but that’s not always a bad thing. This ficlet needs a sequel or prequel to complete it; otherwise it comes across as a promo for an After School TV special.
