A Long Way Isn't Always the Best Way, but Neither is the Easy Way
It was hard to run in the bio-hazard suit. Steve cut through an alleyway. He stumbled over a dead body, luckily no one he knew, but soon caught his balance. A small ways away he saw a Sweeper Unit. Yes! Steve dashed as fast as he could.
As soon as he approached the Sweeper Unit, he flashed a card from his pocket in front of the scanner. “C’mon c’mon!” he muttered. The TP were closing in on him. This was not the time for a corruption.
“Yes!” he yelled out loud. A keypad appeared, and Steve’s finger flew across the numbers. 2-7-4-7-1-6-6. Option: Sweep(2) or Blow(7). Steve slammed a finger down on 7.
Instantly, a magnificent rush of air sent dust and debris flying everywhere. The TP had appeared just in time to get blown back by the giant wave of filth. Steve had no idea why, but the Sweeper Units seemed to defect the TP’s programming system.
He didn’t know that the first time he was being chased. That time they caught him.He was sent to be Demissioned. He’d never forget that.
Ever.*
