Forgetting
Lillian was simply driving around. She had to get him off her mind, thinking about him this much was not good for her. She got her phone out and started looking at her contacts. The list of people she couldn’t call never seemed so long. There was only one person she could call, no questions asked. She dialed.
“Hello?”
“Hi. What are you up to?”
“The boys and I are partying, whiskey baby!”
“I need some of that!”
“Then get over here.”
She ended the call and turned the car around. She knew it was bad to drown her thoughts in alcohol, but she could think of no other remedy.
When she pulled into the apartment complex he was there to meet her. She parked her car and got out. He met her and gave her a hug and a sloppy kiss.
“I am so drunk right now.”
“I need to be.” Lillian followed Blake into the smokey apartment and instantly downed four shots. It was enough to make her slim limbs go numb.
Blake pulled her close and grabbed her hand. She didn’t no where they were going, but knew they would be alone.
