Ficlets

Ficlets obsession and how to cure it

“I gotta have a sequel, NOW !” Ziggy despaired…
“What’s with the sequel and your obsession with sequels,” Marina said in her quiet voice as she continued to arrange the index cards on the table.
“You know Ziggy,” Marina went on, not lifting her eyes from the index cards, “this ficlets thing is claiming too much of your time and energy and is beginning to be noticed by yours sincerely over here, who does have meaningful things to do and needs not your bothersome drone about prequels and sequels, OK?”
Ziggy wasn’t listening. The laptop stared back at her, ready, waiting, but her fingers and her mind refused.
“I think you should take a break,” Marina called from the other side of the room where she was picking up another box of index cards.
“You really don’t understand, do you,” Ziggy fumed, “this is BIG , I got 200 people waiting for this sequel. They’ll MURDER me if I don’t deliver.”
“Yep,” Marina said, her fingers secretly reaching for the router cable.
AGHH ,” Ziggy nearly fainted, “Internet’s gone!”
