All lies (50th ficlet challenge)
Personal Blog Entry #35
World War III had started, and it’s amazing how the nets are still online.
I mean, what’s the purpouse of it all? No one will ever bother to tell me, or how. “War on terror”, “The Enemy” and such crap are the only things they bother to tell us.
Some of us even believe that truckload of lies. Finding food is becoming increasily difficoult, they keep telling us to be patriotic, to avoid foreign products: but black market sales are increasily more pricey.
Yesterday, there was a bombing. Apparently. Maybe to keep high the morale, maybe just to… I don’t know. They told of an accident, a gas line damaged from the earliest bombing. They tell us cities are secure.
Kate is tugging my arm now. Her parents died in the early wave of bombings, two weeks ago.
Tell her about safety.
I too, I lost my parents. And she lost her mind, turned to a helpless child. I must keep going, for her.
I’m thinking to go away with her, but why? And where? At least we’re fortunate enough to have a shelter.
