The BIRDS -- No, No, Not the BIRDS

Suddenly the humming got much louder. The men who had been wounded by the blue bean crouched down low in their trench. A murmur of prayer escaped from their lips.

Suddenly, the man who screamed disappeared in a blue flash.
His head and his boots went flying off in different directions.

The night-flying birds rapidly dove towards the carnage that remained. Their screams of delight brought fear into the hearts of those all around.

The screams of the two wounded men brought even more terror into the battlefield, not to mention the additional clicks and humms as the helms began acquiring their next targets.
