When it Rains, it Pours
Taking a moment to allow the startling information to seep into her brain, Lee sat back in the booth.
“Hanged?” She cocked an eyebrow at her now very important friend.
“Yep. Hanged.” Stu was obviously impressed with the bit of information he acquired. Lee could see the beam in his eye.
“How could I have missed this?” She silently berated herself. Hours had been spent studying the autopsy photos. There was no visible—
Stu interrupted her train of thought. “You can’t see the contusions because there are none.” A grin appeared on his face.
“What do you mean, no contusions? It isn’t possible to be…” She stopped herself, mid-sentence. Things weren’t adding up.
Now, Lee was baffled. She thought she had known the case inside and out. Studied every piece of information. Interviewed every possible person involved. Obviously, she was wrong.
Stu broke the silence with a hearty, wet sneeze and a series of loud, disgusting sniffles.
“Damn,” she mentally cursed as she wiped the shower off of her arm.
