I walked back down the little pathway not quite knowing where I was going. I just wanted to scour the city. Even though this city gets to me there’s something about it. Like the fact that it holds peoples dreams and fantasies.
My mother came here for a dream. A fantasy that she couldnt get to work. She wanted to be an actress, she wanted to be known. Before my mother found out she was pregnant with me she almost scored a roll in a movie called Antiquity. She tried to hide her pregnancy but when the agency found out, they told her that she no longer got the job.
My full name is Seri Antiquity Henderson. And to be honest I hate my middle name because to my mother its just a remembrance of how she lost her shot at fame. She stayed in New York though, and even though she wont admit it shes still looking for a second shot.
But heres something I will admit, this city holds my dreams too.
