Little Things Matter

I am impressed with simple things; the flight of the birds upon the fjord, and the sparkling of the silver fish underneath the crystalline surface of the water.

I love hearing the rooster crow and the bells of the goats in the morning.

I do not need heady or savory foods to satisfy me – I will be perfectly happy with two pieces of bread and some butter and salt.

I do not demand money, wealth or power; I do not crave extreme control over others, neither do I sustain fantasies of conquering the world.

A small, comfy cottage is enough for me to live in. I do not need Buckingham Palace to be sated.

My friends are close and few, but I appreciate them; I treat them with loyalty and respect, even if they do not reciprocate the actions decently.

My sense of justice is good and fair, and I’ve been told that I’m honest and a good friend.

People say I make them laugh, that my smile is wide and bright.

Well, then, if I’m all these things, please answer this question.

Why can I not find happiness?
