Onto The Deck!

And, oh my, shocker – Diane had abandoned her own kid. I didn’t even know she had a kid! Shows you what kind of a person she is.

Blaire swallowed the lump with much difficulty.

“What’s your name, honey?” she asked, looking the girl in the eyes.

“Anastasia,” she whispered, her brown eyes wide.

“Okay, Anastasia. I’m going to give you to that man over there – I want you to trust him,” Blaire said, now standing next to a very pale Tray.

She handed the little girl to him, and Anastasia clung to Tray like he was a lifeline.

Blaire leaned over so her mouth was just over Tray’s ear. “You try anything – such as ditching her – I will personally skin you once this is over.”

And with that, she turned and marched out of the room, and onto the deck, looking for the woman Anastasia called ‘mom’.

Tray looked at the little girl with interest.

“Mr. Tray, what’s your favorite color?”

“Uh…blue. How do you know my name?” Tray blinked at Anastasia, gray eyes wide.

“Mama told me.”

Mama says many things.
