Becoming, part 2

Across the city, Paul was explaining how by choosing his employers to implement their proposed building plans, the bored businessmen in expensive suits would save enough money to be able to take their time over choosing their tennants. Paul hinted that this would allow them to screen the interested parties to ensure no “undesirables” made it in. Paul was busy gesturing at various graphics and projections of time and cost when he noticed a small red patch beginning to form on the back of his left hand. That patch formed a symbol, the symbol of time, and so Paul knew¸ it was now, or never. Right now, somewhere across the city, his son was in pain and Paul knew that he was the only person who could stop the pain, since he was the reason for it.
