The headless bee
It was a particulairly hot summer day and my best friend Janell and I had not too much to do. That is besides, wonder around our yards and play with what ever caught our attention. We were only about eight or nine years old and bugs seemed to be the quickist thing to catch our eyes. The wild rose bushes and honey suckle weeds were a constant haven for the yellow jacket bees. Janell and I, had made our version of home-made perfume from the roses with water from the hose, and also sucked the sweetness from the honey-suckles so much in our short little lives that they didn’t grab our attention any more. ....And then, one day, with a clear plastic cup in hand, we decided to catch that crazy bee.Of course this was my idea, being some-what of a tom-boy then, but Janell went along bravely. even though she was allergic to bees.
