Alive part 12
I decided I wouldn’t read the note for dramatic effect. Holding onto Will with every strand of hope wasn’t working anymore.
At least nobody else had found me on the street corner yet. I wasn’t up for any type of confrontation.
I slipped the note discreetly into my left pocket.
The pocket was cold and different from where my phone used to reside.
I wondered how long I was willing to lay here until there was reason to do otherwise.
Finally realizing a car had just passed, my hands automatically went under me to push my limp body from the shivery sidewalk.
I launched myself towards my house, flying down the sidewalk. The wind was kissing my face, the ground a fast treadmill challenging my feet. It all felt like soaring until the aghast halt. My arm was binded to a tree and everything abruptly stopped. Body overpowering the mind.. “Hmm,” I muttered.
The hair that was last abiding with the wind was now wisping across my face. I leaned gently against the tree and squinted my eyes thinking that this was it.
