Uniform 3
“I swear honey, when I went here, the school was beautifully maintained.”
“Mom, when you went here, the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World were also beautifully maintained.”
My mom looked at me with remorse. Then she went back to being her old self, and gave me a stony glance.
“Well, it’s too late to change schools. Just bear with it for a year. Then you’ll go to East Lyme High.”
“Alright.”
I had to agree. It was only a year, and I would make sure I spent as much time outside of campus as possible.
I finished unpacking, and my mom left. Then there was the hard part. I went downstairs, ready to face my fellow students. I walked over to a bunch of girls who seemed the most human of the girls in the hallway.
“Hi, I’m Katie.”
The tall girl in the group, a red-head with a heart-shaped face turned to me and said, “Oh—hi. I’m Olivia. This is Allison, Kerry, Madison, and Sonia. Anyway, April, which room did you get? Not that it matters, they’re all crappy.”
“Yeah, I got room 97.”
“That’s impossible!!”
