I remember… before this war. Before this torrent that rages inside of me and tears apart all traces of peace and tranquility… there was silence, perfection. A balance that was unbreakable.
Before this plague, all was bright and joyful. God shone through in every aspect of my life, and He guided the way, leading me to ever-higher places.
But, as fate would have it, this eutopia remained not everlasting… An invasion, the collapse of a peaceful empire which resided in my heart, occured. The great nation that was once one split in two and wrought destruction throughout, touching every last corner of my heart, and brushing the edges of my soul.
Old rulers of the empire fought back tirelessly, forging their weapons from what was left of shattered hope. However, darkness continued to push them back effortlessly with their heavier weapons of hatred, malice and regret.
Many years have passed, and the darkness has not left. Though, their heavy reign is lifted whenever I remember what it was like before…
