Small-Town Miracles

“Mommy! Mommy, wook! It’th thnowing!” shouted the little boy, as he ran around the yard, trying to catch the small white flakes as they came towards the ground.

Miranda looked up at her child, wondering what on earth he was talking about.

Snow in Florida, in the middle of August?

Then she also noticed the numerous specks of white, as they floated down towards her in the evening air, swirling in all their wonderful glory.

Her eyes grew wider and wider, mouth gaping in wonder.

Could it be? Could her prayers have been answered? Was this the sign she had prayed for? That everything was going to be all right?

Miranda fell to her knees, tears in her eyes, as she thanked God for this miracle, and hugged her child close.

Meanwhile, across the fence in the neighboring yard, a loving husband tried to rouse his family into singing campfire songs as the white ashes swirled into the air, and over the fence.
