Everyone of us has a fear of something, but ‘Shakey’ Stevens is afraid of everything. One night, over beers he listed the things he was afraid or. The list contained the following. He’s afraid of escalators,elevators,revolving doors and walk lights, also black cats, walking under ladders, spilled salt and broken mirrors.

Most of the time listening to him about his fears is amusing, sometimes interesting, but never boring. His latest thing is he is getting a new security door installed. He read in the papers that statistics claim that every eleven minutes a house is broken into. ‘Shakey figured at that rate his house would be broken into by December 3rd.

I never, ever thought that I’d learn anything from him. But I did. I learned to quit listening to him.
