Sleepless Nights Call For...Cookies!
I was in bed, belly down, thinking about tomorrow. And thinking about tomorrow kept my brain working…and keeping my brain working meant no sleep.
I groaned and turned on my side. Tony had been nice enough to offer us this shack – it would be a shame not to rest!
It was one of those nights when I was tired – exhausted, ready to collapse – and yet, I couldn’t get comfortable.
Pure torture, I tell you!
I tried burying my head under the pillow and blocking out all the world. I tried staring at the ceiling and counting sheep.
I finally gave up, and sat upright in my bed.
Lin was snoring in a manner quite disproportionate to her petite side.
I rolled my eyes, and slipped into my pair of … well, slippers. I resisted the urge to cream her with a pillow on my way out.
Instead, I found myself in the kitchen, heating up milk and getting chocolate cookies from the cupboard.
I was ready to dunk the head of the first cookie in my milk when I heard something.
“Can’t sleep?”
I craned my head upwards.
