Really Not Sure
The following day, I went to the park looking for Jason. He was seated at our bench when I sat down next to him.
“Sorry.â? We both said at the same time.
“Go ahead.â? I whispered, fidgeting with my hands.
“It was none of my business,â? Jason began, “I could have just stayed out of all of it. Sorry if I’m bothering you, but … I … I really like you.â? I gaped at him. “Your turn.â?
My turn?! How can there be a my turn after that bit of news?! Plus, I honestly had no idea what I was going to say now.
“Allie? You okay?â? I must have zoned out.
I nodded and regained my voice. “I’m fine. I’m just … thinking.â?
“Thinking about what?â? Jason asked and I could feel his hand sliding off his lap, closer to me. “Is something wrong?â? Um, not really sure yet.
