Alive part 14

It of course wasn’t a superpower. The want and need to get away from the home that stripped my soul just made me temporarily.. well.. speedy.
I spotted a bench to rest on and let out the breath I had been holding in for what seemed like last night. Everything was in such contrast like I had never imagined. The streets were beautiful and the people that walked them were amazing and unique.
I greeted everyone that walked past the little bench as I massaged my blistered feet. It didn’t even occur to me that some of the strangers didn’t even bother to respond. They were all so beautiful.
Two small boys with shining faces waved back at me although their mother tugged at them to stay away. I didn’t see strangers, but a whole town of individuals with lives of their own that you can see through their eyes. I slipped my shoes back over my feet and pulled myself from the bench. There was a 7-11 in eyeshot and that was my next destination since I still wasn’t sure where my final destination would be.
