A New School
“Bye!” I watched as the little girl waved her hand franticlly in the air, waving goodbye to her parents at the school door, they waved back lovingly.
She closed her eyes and smiled tilting her head to the side, her curly hair fell over her face.
I sat leaning against the tree for support, one leg dangling over the edge while the other was pulled up close to my body. When her parents were out of site I jumped down, landing on my feet, letting one hand come out to balance on the ground as I bent my knees.
The little girl gasped, jumping back with fright.
“You’ll have to get used to that, if you’re going to go to school here.” I said straightening up, I pushed my hair back to look at her and then smiled.
“I think I can handle it,” she smiled, showing her perfect teeth. I couldn’t help but smile back.
“Yeah, I think you’ll fit in well around here.” I told her, and began walking toward the school.
