“Why didn’t you like me when we were back at home?”
“I thought that had been your last question! Seriously, though? You were overtly curious. I- we- couldn’t fraternize with someone like that. Plus, I feel rather bad. I mean, you are stuck with us.” His voice was hollow.
“So, you mean you feel bad for me? That’s the only reason…?” Her voice trailed off.
“That’s right, I still don’t like you.” Without looking at her, he walked over to Mathieu. “You were listening.” Mathieu looked straight ahead. He pushed the hair from his forehead, revealing the X shaped scar above his left eye.
“I told you I needed entertainment. Where’s Florence? I’m thinking we should leave that human.”
